Just Killin'Time Cause Its Killin' Me
Back to Full Blog

I usually don't post these type of things but I was bored and this was actually pretty funny. It is a little game I've seen being played at a few places on the internet. Take a minute to play and post your results in the comments section or post them on your blog and leave me a comment so I can check 'em out.

IF YOUR LIFE WAS A FILM, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE?

Here'sthe dealio:

1. Open your music library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc.).
2. Put it on shuffle.
3. Press play.
4. For every question, type the song that's playing.
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button.
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool, just let the tunes go randomly.

Opening Credits:

Simple, yes?

Here are my results. I think my MP3 player knows me too well.

Waking Up: Creep - Radiohead

First Day At School: Guyana Punch - The Judys

Falling In Love: Butterflies - Norah Jones

Fight Song: Heart Shaped Box - Nirvana

Breaking Up: Lightning Crashes - Live

Life: Don’t Stop Believing - Journey

Mental Breakdown: Cecilia - Simon and Garfunkle

Driving: I Should Go - Levi Kreis

Flashback: Southern Cross - Crosby Stills and Nash

Wedding: War Pigs - Black Sabbath

Birth Of Child: Remember - Disturbed

Final Battle: Soldier - Eminem

Death Scene: Pyromania - Deaf Leppard

Funeral Song: Seven Nation Army - White Stripes

Final Credits: Loser - Beck

You may have noticed the accuracy in the fact that I start out a creep and end up a loser, but even scarier, I think my MP3 player must have been at my wedding.

Dude, did you make that up? If not, that's just dead eerie......What's possibly eerierererer is that IF I had an ipod or mp3 player, most of those would be on there. Especially "Creep" and "Loser" and "Seven Nation Army" and "Lightning Crashes" and anything by Def Leppard....

What's maybe eeriest is that your life theme is a Journey song - - that's a clear signal that it's time to change yer life, stat.

But can I come to your funeral? "Seven Nation Army" is a kick-ass, head-bangin', singin'-at-the-top-of-your-voice song......

No, I didn't make it up. Some of them crack me up, but then again, I might be drunk...

Nope, I'm not but I really thought I might have been. Anyway,

I'm not at all suprised you would have the same songs. I mean good music is good music. Anyone who wouldn't have the same music is obviously a complete idiot who barely desrves to breath air that could be used to sustain intelligent and useful life.

When we take over the world we must be sure to enact laws for the execution of those who listen to Classical, New Country, Oldies, or anything by Culture Club.

Oh, c'mon - - do you really want to hurt me? Do you really want to make me cry?

I had a boyfriend in college who thought the lead singer for Culture Club was soooooooooo cute. A very perceptive man he was.

Both "Cecilia" and "War Pigs", in their particular categories, keep making me laugh - - there was some sort of musical, mystical supernatural thing going on with you in that game of Spin the Ipod!

I used one of my finetune playlists, chosen at random and it automatically plays on a shuffle. List is 45 songs long and these are what happened.

Waking Up: Sister Goldenhair by America

First Day At School: Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd

Falling In Love: Another One Bites The Dust by Queen

Fight Song: Stop, Stop, Stop by the Hollies

Breaking Up: What A Fool Believes by the Doobie Brothers

Life: Money by Pink Floyd

Mental Breakdown: Hotel California by the Eagles

Driving: Sister Disco by the Who

Flashback: The Logical Song by Supertramp

Wedding: Momma Told Me Not To Come by Three Dog Night

Birth Of Child: All Day and All of The Night by the Kinks

Final Battle: Can't Fight This Feeling by REO Speedwagon

Death Scene: When The Morning Comes by Hall and Oates

Funeral Song: Dust In The Wind by Kansas

Final Credits: Africa by Toto

Whole thing is weird.

Sherry;

You've got to love Another One Bites the Dust for falling in love and Momma Told Me Not to Come for the wedding. Not to mention that Hotel California is the quintessential mental breakdown song.

Val;

Actually its a Dell DJ Gen 2. I'm nowhere near cool enough to rock the pod, as should be obvious by this very statement.

Sherry, "Dust in the Wind" is a perfect funeral song! I'm gonna be busy making the rounds for all these musical burials.........

Hey, how can you execute me for listening to Oldies when they provided you with at least a brief chuckle? Besides which, I'm old enough to remember when they weren't oldies.
